I decided to bake some Chocolate Lava Cakes today! It was a delightful experience

Ingredients

  •  1/2 cup unsalted butter
  •  4 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped
  •  1 cup powdered sugar
  •  2 eggs + 2 egg yolks
  •  1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  •  1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  •  Pinch of salt

Optional: ice cream for serving

Preparation

1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and grease four ramekins.

2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.

3. Stir in the powdered sugar until well combined.

4. Whisk in the eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.

5. Fold in the flour and salt until just combined.

6. Divide the batter among the ramekins and place them on a baking sheet.

7. Bake for 12-14 minutes until the edges are set but the center is soft.

8. Let them cool for a minute, then run a knife along the edges and invert onto plates.

9. Serve warm with a scoop of your favorite ice cream. Dive in and enjoy the lava flow!

Notes

Be careful not to overbake the cakes; the centers should be molten for that lava effect. You can add a flavor twist by incorporating orange zest or a dash of espresso powder.

Want an extra indulgent touch? Try adding a dollop of freshly whipped cream on top before serving. What's your favorite way to enjoy Chocolate Lava Cake?
